If you’re anything like me, you probably played through the Tetris Effect weekend trial demo. And, like me, you’re likely unable to get the ridiculously groovy tunes out of your head. So I did what any trance-induced Tetris junkie could do: I tried everything to get my grubby mitts on the soundtrack.

To no avail.

The only way you can get your hands on (a selection) of the songs is by pre-ordering the game, which is slated to be released on November 9th. At least for the time being.

So I asked Enhance, developers of the title, whether or not the game’s soundtrack would be getting a separate release, to which they had the following to say: “It might be a while until it happens since all the music is currently mixed inside the game and needs some time to create the proper “official tracks” if that makes sense.”

Hulk sad.

“Thus the soundtrack sampler is the only thing available (for pre-orders only!) and will not be available after launch.”

Hulk very sad.

Hyperbole aside, this news sure is a bummer, but an understandable bummer at that.

Now, if only I can get the boss to sign off on pre-ordering the game — for research purposes, of course.

Tetris Effect drops (ha!) on November 9th for PlayStation 4, with enhanced capabilities on the PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation VR.
